I have been teaching at St. John the Baptist Catholic School since 2001. As a St. John's graduate, I have had the opportunity to teach with some of my former teachers. They have taught me in the past and continue to teach me to this day!
After I graduated from St. John's, I attended New Haven High School in which I graduated in 1994. Shortly after, I began taking classes at Indiana University - Purdue University, Fort Wayne. I received my Bachelor of Science in Education from Indiana University - Purdue University, Fort Wayne in 2000.
Originally I was a business major, but found that I was not satisfied. I did not feel that it was "rewarding" me in the way I needed to be. So, I began looking for a new major. During this time I was training a fellow employee on a computer program at Midwest America Federal Credit Union. She told me that I did a great job and was very patient with her. She also knew that I was looking for a new major and recommended education. I had never given teaching much thought until that point in my life. Since that small suggestion had such an impact on my career, I figured this girl must be special and I should hold on to her. I married her in 2000! Kerry and I have two children, Leah (born on Pi Day!) and Christopher.
I have found that teaching is an extremely rewarding career and I am thankful that I made the switch to education. I thank God that He has brought me to the St. John's family.

I hope everyone is staying warm! For e-learning today, we will make some adjustments for this week's iReady minutes. You will still need 45 minutes for the week. There will be 15 minutes for the week, 15 minutes for the 21st, and 15 minutes for the 22nd. You will have five school days to complete the minutes, but it will be easier on everyone if you have everything completed on by Sunday. Use your time wisely!Tuesday, January 21, 2025
Another e-learning day! For today's math e-learning for grades 6-8, we will add extra iReady minutes for the week. You will have an extra 15 minutes added to this week's minutes. For the week, you will need to earn a total of 45 minutes (15 for e-learning and 30 for the week) and must pass at least one lesson.
